Learn the art of Tohono O’odham basket weaving in this hands-on workshop

Basket weaving is a beautiful and time-honored tradition of the Tohono O’odham. Fred and Della Cruz are a Tohono O’odham husband and wife team known for crafting beautiful baskets and intricate human and animal figures. In this hands-on workshop, you will not only learn how to weave these elegant baskets using authentic materials, tools, and techniques, but you will also discover the significance of the customs and designs that make this art form a treasured and meaningful practice.

$130 members/$175 nonmembers.
Participants will make and keep one basket. Price includes all materials and lunch. Limited to 8 participants. Registration must be prepaid and is nonrefundable.
