Western National Parks Association, founded in 1938 as Southwest Parks and Monuments Association, aids and promotes the educational and scientific activities of the National Park Service. As a non-profit organization authorized by Congress, it makes books and educational material available to park visitors by sale or free distribution. All net proceeds support the education and research programs of the National Park Service. The association is dedicated to instilling a greater appreciation of national park resources to all who visit.

MEDICAL INSURANCE
Eligibility: Full-time, year-round employees. Effective the first of the month immediately following the first three months of employment.
WNPA is pleased to pay for 75 percent of the monthly premium for both employees and eligible dependents.

DENTAL INSURANCE
Eligibility: Full-time, year-round employees. Effective the first of the month immediately following the first three months of employment.
WNPA is pleased to pay for 75 percent of the monthly premium for both employees and eligible dependents.

FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT (SECTION 125 CAFETERIA PLAN)
Eligibility: Full-time, year-round employees. Effective the first of the month immediately following the first three months of employment.
Employee portions of medical and dental premiums are deducted from paychecks on a pre-tax basis. In addition, eligible employees may elect to have out-of-pocket medical expenses and/or dependent care expenses deducted from paychecks with pre-tax dollars.

GROUP LIFE/AD&D INSURANCE
Eligibility: Full-time, year-round employees. Effective the first of the month immediatelyfollowing one year of employment.
WNPA is pleased to pay 100 percent of the premium for an employee life insurance and AD&D (Accidental Death and Dismemberment) policy in the amount of $50,000.

GROUP LONG-TERM DISABILITY COVERAGE
Eligibility: Full-time, year-round employees. Effective the first of the month immediately following one year of employment.
WNPA is pleased to pay 100 percent of the premium for a standard long-term disability policy for the employee.

403(b) RETIREMENT PLAN
Eligibility: All employees who work an average of 20 hours per week and are able to defer at least $200 per year. Employee contributions are effective the beginning of the month following the election. Employer match is effective after one year of service (if 21 years of age or older).
Eligible employees may defer a portion of their gross income on a pre-tax basis. They may defer up to the maximum allowances set by the IRS. After one year of service, WNPA will match the employee deferral on a dollar-for-dollar basis, up to 8.33% of gross income. Employees are immediately vested in all funds deposited to their accounts.

HOLIDAYS
Full-time, year-round employees. Effective immediately upon hire.
WNPA is pleased to offer 11 paid holidays per year: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. One floating holiday is also available for use at the employee's discretion.

ANNUAL LEAVE
Full-time, year-round employees. Effective with the employee's third full pay period.
Eligible employees accrue 4 hours of annual leave each pay period during their first three years of employment. Then, employees begin to accrue 6.15 hours of annual leave per pay period. From the tenth anniversary forward, employees accrue 8 hours of annual leave per pay period. Employees may carry over up to 240 hours at the end of each calendar year. Upon termination of employment, employees will be paid for unused annual leave earned through their last full pay period, up to 240 hours.

SICK LEAVE
Eligibility: Full-time, year-round employees. Effective with the employee's third full pay period.
Eligible employees receive an allotment of 56 hours of sick leave each January 1st. The allotment is prorated from date of hire during the first year of employment. At the end of each calendar year, employees have the option of carrying over or being paid out for unused sick leave. Upon termination, sick leave is forfeited.

DIRECT DEPOSIT
Eligibility: All employees. Effective immediately upon employment.
Employees may elect to have their paychecks directly deposited to their checking and/or savings account(s) at any bank or credit union. An employee may allocate his or her deposit to as many as three different accounts.

WNPA MEMBERSHIP
Eligibility: All employees. Effective immediately upon employment.
The association is pleased to provide employees free membership that is valid for the length of their employment. The membership entitles employees to a 15 percent discount on purchases in our bookstores and from our online store (purchase of handcrafted art items sold at several WNPA sites is not eligible for discount). Most National Park Service cooperating associations honor WNPA member discounts.

UNIFORM ALLOWANCE
Eligibility: All field employees. Effective immediately upon employment.
Upon employment, employees receive two uniform shirts at no cost and a check to assist them with the purchase of uniform pants/skirts. Twice per year, employees will receive an additional shirt and check. As needed, employees may also receive a sweater for the colder months at no charge.
