Western National Parks Association (WNPA) seeks a Park Store Manager to assist with the WNPA park store in our National Historical Park locations. This position will help manage a new retail operation one that is aligned with WNPA’s mission to create advocates for national parks. The Store Manager conducts outreach efforts in support of park interpretive programs and events and may organize public education activities, create special sales and/or community events and develop publicity campaigns.
Responsibilities will include managing the day-to-day operation of the store; driving sales; planning, stocking and displaying merchandise; performing banking functions and financial reporting; managing inventory; building and maintaining effective professional relationships; and achieving a high level of customer service and satisfaction. Manages store operations in accordance with applicable Federal and state laws, WNPA policies and procedures, and professional business standards. The successful Park Store Manager may be responsible for the hiring and supervision of other WNPA staff members. Supervision includes coordinating training, preparing the employees’ schedules, evaluating performance, overseeing their work product,
managing employee relations issues in collaboration with Human Resources, etc.
Required Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in a successful retail store and with driving business growth; and a demonstrated ability to market niche products and programs. Must be available to work holidays and weekends and be willing to work a flexible schedule for special events.
Compensation: Based on duties and responsibilities (see location for specific starting salary) all store employees enjoy a generous retirement plan with an 8.33% employer match, a uniform allowance and store discounts. WNPA provides Medical coverage options for employees scheduled to work 30 hours or more.
