Western National Parks Association (WNPA) seeks a full-time/year round Publishing Project Coordinator to join our Marketing, Communications & Design team. The team is responsible for a broad range of communications activities – from book design to in-store graphics to electronic marketing – the successful candidate for the publishing project coordinator opportunity must be a flexible and collaborative individual with the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.

This position will support our publishing projects by facilitating the planning and execution of re-prints, negotiating and coordinating printing, and working with technical specialists to create and produce short-form printed publications, e-books,  interpretive exhibits, and other media.

Ours is a varied, fast-paced, collaborative work environment, requiring the coordinator to work hand-in-hand with project managers, content specialists, vendors, designer and external constituents to develop timely, compelling and diverse interpretative products that serve to fulfill the collective missions of Western National Parks Association and the National Park Service.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Technical certificate and/or equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree)
  • Experience with writing and editing
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Strong background in planning, meeting numerous deadlines, and coordination of one or more of the types
    of products, publications, and services WNPA oversees
  • A valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in marketing and project coordination are preferred
  • Publishing experience a plus
  • Experience negotiating vendor bids for services
  • Experience working with or for the NPS or similar public historical, cultural, or land management entity a plus
  • Ability to work through partners to gain job completion on time and within budget
  • Interest in and enthusiasm for our nation’s parks and public lands
  • Experience working with nonprofit organizations a plus.

Compensation: $15.00 per hour, non-exempt

Schedule:40 hours per week. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a 30 minute lunch
