National Parks Store: Unlikely Ladies

Join Barbara Marriott and meet some of the Unlikely Ladies who shook up their fellow citizens, forged ahead, and created their own unique path through life.

Just as every generation has its prescribed lady-like and socially acceptable behaviors, so too must every generation have its independent women rebels. These remarkable women scoff at society’s judgment and blaze their own trail through the history books. Join Barbara Marriott and meet some of the Unlikely Ladies who shook up their fellow citizens, forged ahead, and created their own unique path through life.

Barbara Marriott looks at history through a unique lens that enables her to describe what life was like for the average, or not so average, men and woman during historical times. She has written 13 books, ten of them non-fiction.  Her eclectic interests range from the Southwest to the East Coast, from pioneers to the history of a World War II Navy base, and from unlikely ladies to cowboy artists.

Presentation at 12 PM only.
