HOBO_talk_2PM_lgThe story of Charles Lummis and Adolph Bandelier is little known and rarely told, yet it is one of the most fascinating and inspirational stories about the American Southwest. In the last two decades of the 19th century, Lummis and Bandelier connected in an unusual series of events at the pueblo of Isleta, south of Albuquerque. Their unusual lifestyles and the intrigue that surrounded their lives should make the story a canonical part of the history of the region.

Join author Don Sayenga as he shares the unusual story of these two wild and crazy guys who have slipped through the historical cracks. Sayenga will also explore the reasons why the history of Adolph Bandelier and Charles Lummis has been so widely ignored. This talk will illuminate the extraordinary lives of two men whose stories beg to be told.

Presentations at 12 noon and 2 PM.
