How well do you really know Carnegiea gigantean? Known more commonly as saguaro cactus, these giants can live for 100 years. Do you have what it takes to stand next to one for an hour? Join choreographer Kimi Eisele to learn more about her I Stand with Saguaros project. This is a Borderlands Theater campaign, part of a year-long NEA “Imagine Your Parks” collaboration with Saguaro National Park in celebration of the National Park Service’s 100th year.

If you can’t attend the event, stand or sit with a saguaro for an hour. What do you discover? Share your thoughts with a short essay and take a portrait of yourself with the saguaro. Post your discoveries online using #IStandWithSaguaros, #SaguaroNationalPark, #BorderlandsTheater. On Twitter add any of these: @BLTheater, @SaguaroNPS, or @NEAarts.

Presentation at 12 PM only.
