In “Sky Island,” filmmaker John Grabowska captures the compelling beauty of a rugged landscape of volcanic mountains, deep canyons, and mesas.  The film explores the enchanting landscape of Bandelier National Monument–a land with a complex ancestry and sublime topography filled with towering mountains and volcanos. Follow a soaring path through the seasons as the film pursues the story of the people, plants, and animals that call this special place home.

Spend 40 minutes watching this monumental film and find yourself transported to the Jemez Mountains in the rugged land of the Faraway Nearby. The film outlines the devastating effects of global warming on our nation’s most treasured landscapes, while eloquently weaving together the story of the land and its people.

Showings at 12 noon and 2 PM.
