Western National Parks Association, El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument, National Park Service, US Forest Service, and California State Parks request that you reserve August 27, 2016, for two special events. The City of Los Angeles will celebrate its 235th birthday at El Pueblo with a civic ceremony (10 AM) followed by a ribbon cutting and sneak preview of our new urban store, Gateway to Nature: Western National Parks Center, Los Angeles, slated to open to the public in early fall of 2016.

This new center will bring the “parks to the people,” providing information and products about national parks, forests, and other public lands. Join us for a sneak preview of this new facility! There will be ranger talks, artisan demonstrations, Smokey Bear, live animals, and birthday cake.
