Help WNPA Make the National Park Experience Possible For Everyone
For 75 years Western National Parks Association (WNPA), a nonprofit education partner of the National Park Service (NPS), has met the challenges of changing socioeconomic and political climates that threaten the enduring presence of many of the West’s earliest and most precious parks.
WNPA’s mission-driven services, products, and support enrich visitor experiences and encourage lasting connections with 66 national parks in 12 western states.
WNPA publishes park-relevant books and free interpretive materials such as trail guides and park bulletins; sponsors park programs that include educational exhibits, cultural demonstrations, historical reenactments; and funds archaeological projects and other scientific research in the parks. Our staff—over 100 in the field—greet and assist millions of visitors from around the globe at park visitor center stores. Proceeds facilitate WNPA’s ability to provide direct and in-kind donations to partner parks (more than $68 million since the inception of the organization).
The 21st century poses new challenges to our national parks, calling for innovative outreach and enhanced community engagement. The financial support of WNPA memberships has become increasingly crucial to ensuring that these extraordinary parks and their irreplaceable natural and cultural resources are known, experienced, and valued by all.
